BLUF

There is no service-wide Navy combatives program on record.

  • A 2010 Naval Postgraduate School thesis found “limited training in self-defense,” “no proactive plan,” and recommended MCMAP as the model. (In the library, DTIC ADA536535.)
  • Sailors attached to Marine units train in MCMAP.
  • Security forces and Master-at-Arms get hand-to-hand self-defense as part of non-lethal weapons training, alongside baton and OC spray. The MA “A” School piloted a new curriculum. (USFF; details from search summaries.)
  • Naval Special Warfare: no public, official curriculum detail found.
